ITFC 3-0 Millwall December 8th 2012

What a turn around it's been since Mick & TC took over, not that long ago I was going to "Forstress Portman Road" now all of a sudden it's becoming a "Fortress". I know I'm tempting fate but for the record we are unbeaten at home since they arrived.
Confidence was high following that impressive away win at Bolton last week, we had to weather a storm after conceding early, and went on to nick a late winner. Listening to Radio Suffolk's commentary whilst decorating it sounded like we could have been on the end of another away hiding. There's always a bit of needle when Millwall come to town, unbeaten in thirteen matches they arrived with over eleven hundred fans confident of continuing their recent good run of form.
Stephen Henderson once again gave Town a platform to build on following some decent saves early on and I have to admit I'm starting to eat my words about his ability. DJ Campbell added another two goals to his ITFC account, the first after thirty-seven minutes, converting Aaron Cresswell's low cross with a deft little touch along the deck and past Lions Keeper David Forde. DJ's pace was proving to hot to handle for Millwall's Danny Shittu, he beat the defender to Bradley Orr's through ball four minutes after the break and then passed the ball back to his strike partner Daryl Murphy who doubled the lead. Murphy was then awarded a penalty after Shane Lowry handled the ball, although he went on to score the ref had already blown up for the spot kick. It's the fourth game on the spin that Ipswich have been awarded a penalty, DJ duly slotted it past the Millwall keeper to make the rest of the match an easy watch and keep our recent run of form on track.
Elliott Hewitt was given his debut two minutes from time, a lot is expected from him and although he didn't have too much defending to do he looks very quick. I remember the corresponding match last season, our final home game. We were terrible and lost 0-3 that day, how sweet it is to turn the tables on them!
